Both undergraduate and graduate students who have survived sexual abuse and assault are eligible to apply for the Sexual Abuse Survivor Scholarship, awarded annually from the Fitch Law Firm LLC. The scholarship winner receives $2,500 with a deadline of June 15, 2022.
About the Sexual Abuse Survivor Scholarship
John Fitch of the Fitch Law Firm LLC is a victim’s rights advocate and appreciates the opportunity to defend the rights of victims of sexual abuse. The Fitch Law Firm LLC sponsors this scholarship as a way to promote the stories of those who have been victims of sexual abuse, while also showing how these students are overcoming the abuse and moving forward with their lives. This scholarship is also designed as a way to support students who have overcome a history of sexual abuse on their path to pursuing a college degree.
The Fitch Law Firm LLC uses its work and the essays in this scholarship to help educate members of the public about sexual abuse law and the difficulties victims of this abuse must overcome in the short term and long term.
The firm hopes that through the promotion of these stories and essays that the public will become more aware of how sexual abuse can happen and how to protect themselves and their loved ones from becoming victims by practicing safety and increased awareness.
Eligibility for Scholarship
Students must follow a few rules when applying for this scholarship, including:
- Available to current college students who are at least 18 years old
- Student must be in good academic standing
- Submit a written essay up to 500 words
Scholarship Essay Topic
Students applying for this Sexual Abuse Survivor Scholarship should explain in 500 words or less a personal, original statement that explains how they plan to use education to improve their opportunities going forward in life. The essay also should explain how the students are taking control of their lives.
How to Apply for the Sexual Abuse Survivor Scholarship
To apply, students should use the application form on this page to submit their essays in either Word or PDF document formats. The student should include information, including:
- Name
- Contact information
- Proof of enrollment in a U.S. university or college
We will not share your personal information with anyone. However, it is possible that we will publish your essay on the Fitch Law Firm LLC web site, along with your name and school name.
The annual deadline to apply for the scholarship is June 15, 2022.
